Successful Candidate Forum jointly hosted by HANA of Florida & South Region Florida Nurses Association, Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 6:30pm/9:30pm at Miami Dade College – North Campus, Room 2158. The purpose of the Forum is to educate members on the legislative process and the importance of civic engagement. HANA does not endorse any political candidates due to its not-for-profit & 501(c)3 status.
There were several judicial candidates, U.S. Congressional, and City Council Candidate from Miami Gardens, State of Florida Commissioner of Agriculture, Broward County School Board Candidates and Councilwoman from Broward County. Special thanks to FNA Staff, and Legislative Affairs Committee for a well organized forum. Thank you to all the Candidates who showed up. We appreciate the two Moderators: Pauline Louis-Magiste, Immediate Past President & Co-Chair of Legislative Affairs Committee and Dr. Linda Washington-Brown, Director of South Region FNA. Special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Marie Etienne, Chair of LAC & President-Elect of FNA and Co-Chairs of LAC & Committee Members who assisted in securing the Candidates to attend the forum: Marsha Eloi, BSN, RN, CCM, Past President of HANA of Florida, Nancy Henri, Cecile Celestine, Pauline Louis-Magiste, Dr. Guerna Blot, Katiana Blaise, Secretary,, Dr. Nahomie Mirville, Past President & Chair of Marketing, Mme President Rose Valcin, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, Katiana St. Thomas Azemar, 1st VP & Nurse of the Year, Mme 2nd VP – Myrnelle Fleur-Aime who welcomed the guests and attendees on behalf of Mme President Rose Valcin who was unable to attend, Dr. Dorothy Leveille, Dr. Marjorie Lozama, Marjori Paul & Dominique Cesar, Administrative Assistant of HANA of Florida. Special thanks Youseline Bazile, Hospitality Chair, and member – Roselene Theodore, HANA and FNA South Region for assisting with water, refreshments and snacks for attendees. Last, but not least, thank you to Miami Dade College – North Campus for renting us the lecture room to host this event and the campus services, IT, and public safety staff for their support.
